Kathmandu: Although the recent natural disasters have disrupted lives, homes, businesses, and livelihoods in several parts of Nepal, the government has stated that daily life continues normally across most parts of the country.

Expressing sympathy for citizens affected by the disasters, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Tuesday thanked all those involved in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts through a social media statement.

The ministry said that despite the impact in some areas, people across most parts of Nepal are continuing to work, travel, and welcome tourists as usual.

The Ministry of Tourism has conveyed a message to the international community and the global tourism sector that “Nepal is not closed.” According to the government, visiting Nepal at this difficult time can help support disaster-affected communities while contributing to the continuity of local employment, businesses, and livelihoods.

A Quick Response Team has also been activated at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to provide necessary information and assistance to tourists.

Similarly, a Tourist Information Desk has been established at the Nepal Tourism Board in coordination with the Department of Tourism, Tourist Police, and private-sector stakeholders. The desk will provide tourists with timely information, assistance, and necessary facilitation.

The government has urged tourists and the international community to stand in solidarity with Nepal during this difficult period and to visit destinations that remain safe and open.

The government’s message is clear: “This is the time to stand with Nepal. This is the time to visit Nepal. Nepal is calling you.”
