Kathmandu , HONOR Nepal has officially launched the HONOR 600 Lite with heavy promotion, but the device is already facing criticism over its pricing and actual value for money. Priced at Rs. 29,999, the smartphone is being marketed as a premium experience, yet many are calling it overpriced for what it offers.
While the company highlights features like a 108MP camera, 120Hz AMOLED display, and AI Camera Button, critics argue that these are no longer groundbreaking in today’s competitive smartphone market. Several rival brands are offering similar or even better specifications at lower prices, raising questions about HONOR’s pricing strategy.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 Elite processor, which falls into the mid-range category. Despite being paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, experts say the chipset may not deliver the “flagship-level performance” that the brand implies in its marketing.
HONOR is also promoting a pre-booking offer that includes a free HONOR Choice Watch 2 Pro worth Rs. 15,999. However, analysts suggest such offers are often used to justify inflated pricing rather than provide genuine added value to consumers.
The 6520mAh battery is another heavily advertised feature, but its real-world performance remains to be seen, as no independent testing has been widely reported yet.
With smartphone competition intensifying in Nepal, consumers are becoming more value-conscious. Many are now questioning whether the HONOR 600 Lite truly delivers on its promises—or if it is simply another example of aggressive marketing overshadowing substance.
