Kathmandu | Chinese smartphone brand realme has launched its new P3 Ultra 5G and P3 5G smartphones in Nepal, highlighting powerful processors, AI features, premium designs, and large batteries. However, the latest launch has also sparked questions about pricing, market competition, and whether the advertised features offer real value to consumers.

The company has priced the flagship P3 Ultra 5G at Rs. 55,999, while the P3 5G comes at Rs. 34,999. At a time when consumers are becoming increasingly price-conscious, industry observers say realme faces an uphill battle convincing buyers that the new devices offer significantly better value than competing smartphones in similar price ranges.

realme has heavily promoted features such as AI capabilities, gaming optimization, high refresh-rate displays, and advanced cooling systems. Critics argue that many of these specifications have become standard offerings across the smartphone industry and may not be enough to differentiate the devices in an increasingly crowded market.

The company also claims premium durability with IP69 water resistance and advanced charging technology. Yet consumer groups often warn that marketing-driven specifications do not always translate into noticeable day-to-day benefits for average users.

The Nepal smartphone market has become highly competitive, with brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, HONOR, Vivo, and Oppo aggressively targeting the same segment. Analysts believe realme’s success will depend less on technical specifications and more on pricing strategy, after-sales service, software support, and long-term reliability.

While realme presents the P3 Series as a major technological upgrade, consumers are likely to weigh the devices against competing alternatives before deciding whether the latest launch represents genuine innovation or simply another round of smartphone marketing.
