Kathmandu, Nepal: inDrive, a global mobility and delivery platform, is helping driver partners strengthen their everyday financial knowledge through its financial literacy course, “Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence.” Designed to provide practical guidance on managing income, budgeting, saving, borrowing responsibly and identifying ways to increase earnings through inDrive, the programme has already seen strong participation among Nepal’s driver community, with more than 2,500 driver partners completing the first module.

Accessible through the inDrive App- Driver Mode-DRIVER Academy section, the course is designed around the everyday financial realities of driver partners, whose income may vary from one day to another. It combines simple financial learning with practical tools that drivers can use to better understand and manage their money.

Recognising that managing variable income can be challenging, inDrive has structured the course into four practical modules that focus on both everyday financial management and opportunities to better manage earnings through the platform.

  • Module 1- Managing Budget: This module helps drivers understand where their money goes, why income can run out quickly and how they can better plan and manage their daily and monthly expenses.

  • Module 2- Achieving Financial Goals: This module focuses on setting realistic financial goals, building an emergency fund, developing regular saving habits and preparing for major purchases.

  • Module 3- Borrowing Safely: This module helps drivers understand responsible borrowing, the difference between good and bad credit, and how to assess whether they can realistically afford a loan before taking on additional financial commitments.

  • Module 4- Getting More Income with inDrive: This module provides practical in-app tips to help driver partners better understand their earning opportunities and explore ways to increase their income while using inDrive.

Each module combines tips on everyday finances with practical guidance on earning through inDrive. Drivers are also provided with a practical task or calculator in every module, allowing them to apply what they learn directly to their own financial situation.

Through the course, driver partners can learn how to manage their budget, forecast and grow their income with inDrive, set and work towards financial goals, spend more thoughtfully and assess whether they can afford a loan.

For driver partners whose earnings may change depending on working hours, demand and other day-to-day factors, having access to practical financial knowledge can help them make more informed decisions about their income and expenses.

Sunita Jeemi Rai, Senior Driver Operations Specialist at inDrive Nepal, said, “Driver partners manage different financial responsibilities every day, while their income can often vary depending on when and how they work. Through ‘Your Finances: Guide to Money Confidence,’ we want to make financial learning simple, practical and accessible within the inDrive app. The course gives drivers useful tools to understand their budget, plan their savings, think carefully before borrowing and make more informed decisions about their earnings.”

Drivers who have completed the course have also highlighted its simple and practical approach.

“This course gave me practical knowledge about saving, budgeting and managing money. It was simple, useful and easy to follow. Since taking it, I’ve started tracking my daily expenses, planning my budget and saving regularly,” shared one driver after completing the course.

The initiative reflects inDrive’s broader commitment to supporting driver partners beyond individual rides by providing access to practical learning opportunities that can contribute to their everyday lives and long-term financial confidence.

As a platform focused on fair and people-first mobility, inDrive will continue making the financial literacy course available through the inDrive App- Driver Mode-DRIVER Academy and encouraging more driver partners across Nepal to explore and complete all four modules.
